Strategically, we partner with clients to create customized solutions utilizing an environmental assessment and other resources to construct a Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP). Our team of experts is then available to educate, train, motivate and assist our customer with realizing their goals utilizing their SEP as the framework and pathway to success.

Evelyn L. Lewis, MD, MA, FAAFP, DABDA
President & CEO
Dr. Lewis is a health and healthcare strategist with expertise in cultural competency, healthcare equity, policy and reform. A retired Navy family physician, she has 25 years of active service to her country and over six years in the corporate arena as a Director Healthcare Policy. With her 30 plus years in clinical medicine, research, academia, administration and policy, she has amassed a range of expertise and experience that has established her as an internationally known and respected health and healthcare figure.
Keenly aware of the exponential growth of our nation’s health and healthcare crisis, Dr. Lewis channeled her years of experience, training, presentations, workshops, and coaching into customizing strategic, innovative methods that will Accelerate the Health and Healthcare Equity Revolution (AHHER). The AHHER strategic process is perfectly aligned with her extraordinary ability to motivate and engage communities and organizations to achieve their health goals and healthcare objectives.
Dr. Lewis holds appointments in the departments of Family Medicine and Medical and Clinical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Vice President of the AAFP Foundation. Her story, “Keeping the Dream Alive” was one of three published in the Medicine and Natural Science section of the recently released book entitled, Women of Color in Leadership, Taking Their Rightful Place. Other significant honors include the W.E. Upjohn Award for Innovation, the Career Communications Group’s, Women of Color Emerald Honor for Medical Education Award, the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians President’s Award, one of five Family Physicians featured in “Is Our Health Care System Losing Its Balance?” sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians Research Initiative, and one of nine Family Physicians profiled in the American Academy of Family Physicians 50th Anniversary Book, Caring for America – The Story of Family Practice. Dr. Lewis received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College, her medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences, the Chicago Medical School and her masters from Pacific Lutheran University.
Dr. Lewis’ passion and energy to ensure equitable and quality to healthcare, the fuel for everyday living, to the Nation’s communities has not gone un-noticed. Her message has influenced and informed Congressional members, state legislators, community leaders, medical and faith based organizations, academicians and fortune 500 companies. Because of her tireless efforts she continues to be recognized as one of the most notable voices in the Health and Health reform movement.
Jann Keenan, ED.S
VP for Programs and Multi Media Communications
Jann Keenan has advocated for the health and welfare of patients through her work in health literacy, plain language, and cultural competency for greater than two decades. This health literacy specialist and public health educator delivers messages people understand thereby, enhancing patient health outcomes. As a national presenter, Jann offers lively workshops and trainings that equip participants to “hit the ground running.” A featured speaker, she’s presented and trained practitioners at Harvard University, Johns’ Hopkins University, The Joint Commission, United States Department of Agriculture, the Kidney Fund, Arthritis Foundation, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, National Medical Society, and World Pharmacology among others.
Ms Keenan is nationally recognized for writing and designing booklets, posters, newsletters, and curriculum and has over 400 publications to date. Topics have included HIV/AIDS, sickle cell anemia, child health, prenatal care, diabetes and high blood pressure control, older adult health, alcoholism, smoking cessation for teens and adults, physical activity, and HINI flu prevention. You can find her health literacy articles published in American Family Physician, Vascular Health & Risk Management, Correct Care, and Pharmaceutical Executive.
If your company or community needs require a multimedia approach, Ms Keenan writes and develops websites, kiosks, and company exhibits. She has also written scripts and produced videos for companies and organizations to include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services, Maryland WIC, the National Emergency Medicine Association, and the National Cancer Institute.
Ms Keenan earned her Ed.S degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Other prestigious awards and honors include: the Maryland’s Governor’s Award, Maryland’s Black Legislative Caucus Citation, the Maryland’s House of Delegates Citation, the MD Pharmaceutical Society’s Humanitarian Award for work in health literacy, six Gold Awards from the National Institutes of Health, DHHS Blue Pencil Award for work in cardiovascular disease in Latinos, and winner of the Clarions Judge Award 2009 from the Association of Women in Communications.
David Simpkins
VP for Marketing & Strategic Communications
David M. Simpkins, M.A. is a seasoned planning and marketing executive with more than 20 years of progressive management and leadership experience across a spectrum of industry sectors including hospital systems, the arts, health plans, management consulting, international relief agencies, and public health. His achievements include an extensive background at the senior management level for several national organizations, leading strategic and business planning, brand development, marketing communications, community relations, and community-based programming. Simpkins has served as the vice president for strategic communications planning for one the nation’s largest, health related nonprofits. He has a particular interest and expertise in multicultural communications; creating innovative strategies to help organizations attract, engage and retain a diverse consumer base.
Simpkins is a strong advocate for health equity and has developed innovative community-based initiatives designed to improve population health status and reduce health disparities in communities of color. His work has included the creation of a comprehensive faith-based campaign to eliminate the disparities in heart disease among minority women. The campaign was later recognized as a best practice by a national health plan provider and duplicated across a number of health plan provider markets.
Simpkins also co-created and chaired Baltimore City’s first African American Men’s Health Conference with more than 20 community-based organizations and physician groups. The Conference attracted more than 1,700 participants in its first year and provided health screening to more than 500 men across Baltimore. The program was later replicated in several other states across the Mid-Atlantic States.
Simpkins is a graduate of Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Management and a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Management. He also received a certificate from Johns Hopkins Leadership Program for Minority Managers. Simpkins is a member of the 100 Black Men of America and formerly served as a member of the board of directors of the American Cancer Society South Atlantic Division and Associated Black Charities.
